Description
A simple, low part count modulation effect inspired by the 80’s sounds of Van Halen.
This is a great introduction to building pedals that aren’t just fuzz or drive. The components are all easy to find and, as long as you’re happy to measure (or experiment) when it comes to the transistors then the results will be great.
With the Rate control down low you get a slow, smooth phase effect. Get it near the mid-point and you’ll hear that familiar 80’s rock phase, turn it up high and you’re in tremolo territory.
The PCB is designed to fit neatly in a 1590B enclosure with a single hole for the Rate control and an optional LED that flashes in time with the phase.
