Description
Mojo-spec resistor and capacitor pair to add a treble bleed to your guitar’s wiring.
A treble bleed circuit is a really simple mod for electric guitars that can help prevent the loss of high frequencies (treble) when the volume knob is turned down, stopping the tone from becoming muddy as the volume gets lower. Typically combining a small capacitor with a resistor, in parallel, wired across the input and output lugs of the volume potentiometer, allowing highs to “bleed” through to the output even as the pot reduces the overall signal.
This maintains clarity and articulation at lower volumes, offering more dynamic control for guitarists who ride the volume knob.
While values vary by preference, the combination of a 1NF capacitor and 150KΩ resistor work pretty well in almost any guitar and with any pickups. However, one problem you can often run into is finding space in the control cavity for an extra capacitor, especially if you’ve already got some juicy tone caps in there too. These ones are both axial making the fitting a piece of cake – wire them tight to the lugs or give them a bit of space with some additional heat shrink, it’s up to you.
You’ll get 1x 1NF Phillips ceramic axial capacitor and 1x 150KΩ UK made, NOS resistor – both components are super small and will easily fit any control cavity, even import Telecasters where the cavities are notoriously snug.
